Artist Spotlight: Kate Roebuck

Kate is one of my top 5 favorite artists. I have a Kate Roebuck piece in my living room that I would 100 percent grab off the wall if my house caught on fire. I suppose I’d grab my cat first, then my artwork...

She gets extra points for the name Kate, cause that’s my bestie’s name and she’s from Pittsburgh…all of the folks I know from Pittsburgh are very near and dear to my heart, they are incredibly sweet!

Here’s a bit more about Kate from the bio on her website:

“Largely influenced by her background in textile design, artist Kate Roebuck finds inspiration in form, pattern, color, and texture. Exploring these classical themes, she seeks to create open-ended visual dialogue and to shed light on the ever-evolving relationship of the creator and the created.
Drawing from nature and everyday life, Kate’s work is both bold and quirky, an interpretation undoubtedly all her own. Her world is best described as witty, unconventional, and rhythmic, chasing the elusive balance of playfulness and precision.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Kate has lived in the south for nearly a decade. The slower pace of life in the south leaves her with ample time to create.”

Hmm…maybe I need to move to the south!

Kate’s art has a youthful, whimsical nature to it, but dress it up in the right frame and it becomes quite sophisticated. Her work feels like a breath of fresh air, especially in gallery walls amongst heavily layered oil paintings.

Kate sells her artwork on several websites besides her own. You can purchase prints on Artfully Walls, One Kings Lane, and Chairish

Or you can purchase one-of-a-kind originals on her site as well as Chairish and Uprise Art.

I found it hard to choose samples for this post, because I’m drawn to so many of her pieces. Check out her website and the sites I mentioned above, to see the rest of Kate’s work, including her fabric collection! It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if you fell in love with one of her pieces. If you do find something you love…pull the trigger on it. Nothing brings a space to life quite like art does.

That’s all for this week, friends! I’ll be back next week with more distractions from the mayhem, meanwhile, come follow me on Instagram!

Wishing you a beautiful and healthy week ahead!
