I probably stopped shopping at IKEA about eight years ago when I decided that there’s no way I’m ever putting together furniture again. Like ever.  Hence when I was shopping for my nightstands on Wayfair, I kept diligently checking off the “fully assembled” box.

Then, a few weeks ago, something changed. I was searching for a basket for one of my clients and was eyeing up this one from Serena & Lily…

but it was going to eat up a decent chunk of the budget that I really wanted to save for other things. So, I went searching for an alternative, and up popped this baby.

I mean it was basically free!  Perhaps the quality of this basket isn’t quite as good as the S&L version, but in this particular case, top quality was not the priority. After painting the bottom white, it’s a good dupe for a fraction of the cost.

That got me thinking...what else is IKEA hiding amongst their must-assemble furniture? I browsed their site for the things that hang out in all of my online shopping carts: vases, mirrors, pillows, etc., and I found lots of gems, all of which get great reviews.

Here they are, in no particular order…

I love to blend high and low (cost) items in my designs. My IKEA inspired living room board is no exception. Can you spot the eight IKEA accessories I used here?

I’d move in, but of course I’m biased. What do ya think? If you’ve previously written IKEA off, are you reconsidering? I’m pretty sure I’ll be adding to my IKEA cart in the near future.

That’s all for this week friends! Why not give IKEA a second chance, it could get you one step closer to a home you love.

Wishing you a beautiful, and healthy, week ahead.
