Artist Spotlight: Amanda Tanner
I discovered Amanda while sourcing art for a client and fell madly in love with her ethereal landscapes. Unfortunately her paintings were too small for the space, but I bookmarked her Etsy shop with plans to highlight Amanda as an upcoming artist of the month. And well…here she is, January’s Artist of the Month: Amanda Tanner.
“In my landscape paintings, I capture the essence of meaningful locations — the abstract and almost blurred way we see them in our memories and hold them in our hearts. I know that your favorite places hold so much of your heart and memory, and ultimately help you become who you are. That’s why I create place portraits, bringing the essence of the most precious locales to life with paint and canvas so they can be a part of your home, bringing you joy for many years to come.”
It’s so true that the places we love become blurred through the passage of time, but the essence always remains. You never forget the way a special place makes you feel.
Here’s a bit about the artist from her website:
“I’m Amanda Tanner, fine artist. I moved around a LOT as a kid. Like, “three times in the first grade” a lot. Add to that an insatiable case of wanderlust which I contracted as a teenager, and you can see why I felt the need to start committing my memories of beautiful places to canvas.
I now live in metro Atlanta, Georgia with my blended family of seven. I studied fine art with a focus in painting and drawing at Kennesaw State University, and my studio is located in Marietta.
My work can be found in projects such as the JB Duke Hotel in Durham, NC & the film “Rings.””
Amanda sells prints and originals on her site and also sells her work through her Etsy shop.
I think this one might be my fav…
But I love this one too! How does one even decide a favorite amongst all the beauty?
I love the vintage look of this one (below). It feels like a treasure chest filled with nostalgia. If I had a beach house, I’d snatch it up in a hot second.
I could keep going and going. But I won’t. I’ll let you explore further on your own. If you’re a landscape lover, make sure you set aside a good chunk of time to get lost in the dreamy sauce.
If you find a painting you love, buy it. If it’s an original, buy it quickly before someone else does. Investing in a special piece of art is a game changer…it’s a decision you’ll never regret. Best of all, it will get you one step closer to a home you love.
Wishing you a beautiful week ahead.
