Artist Spotlight: Nicole Marshall Simms
It’s February, and here in Pennsylvania that means plenty of dark, cold, dreary days. Once again I’m questioning why I live in Pennsylvania. The answer, of course, is because of my sister’s super cute babies!
Anyway, if you’re like me and your bones are struggling to get through another cold gray winter, I’ve got the perfect antidote: the beautifully vibrant, whimsical work of Nicole Marshall Simms.
Nicole sells affordable originals through her website and prints on Minted. She also sells clothing and accessories (t-shirts, socks, skateboards) on her website. I just ordered this t-shirt. Can’t wait to wear it!
Here’s a bit about Nicole, directly from her website:
“I am an Alabama based, multi-disciplinary artist. With a BA in Studio Art/Graphic Design, I find joy in experimenting with color, patterns, and materials. Because I often jump from paint, to pencil, to camera, I love to find ways to blend all of those elements into my pieces. Getting lost in the flow of the process is fun! It feels like magic.”
Magic indeed. I love Nicole’s palette. Those pale icy blues spring to life when surrounded by all the bright warm pops of color. It’s such a breath of fresh air.
And then there’s this quiet little piece, which I love just as much as the others. Its simplicity would pair so nicely with any of her abstracts.
Lean it in front of a bright bold painting, and you’ll have a perfectly balanced vignette.
If you love Nicole’s work as much as I do, add your favorites to cart. If you’re considering one of her originals, snatch it up quickly before someone else beats you to it!
That’s all for this week! Why not purchase a piece from Nicole’s collection for a special spot in your home? You’ll be supporting a small business, and an incredibly talented artist. And of course…it will get you one step closer to a home you love.
Wishing you a beautiful week ahead.
