Artist Spotlight: Mustafa Yasir
I found Mustafa’s shop last December while scouring Etsy for original artwork. I started melting over his paintings and noticed that Etsy tagged him as a local seller. Of course I figured local meant 50 miles away or maybe more. Nope, not even close. His shop is a 10 minute drive from my house. At that point I knew I had found him for a reason. I contacted Mustafa immediately, and commissioned him to paint a piece for my home. Boy, did he deliver…
So good, right?! Modern, serene, and graceful.
I have to say I enjoyed the whole process of the commission. Mustafa could not have been more kind. He was really receptive to all of my thoughts and input, such a pleasure to work with. Naturally, I put him on my list right away as a candidate for an artist spotlight. And so here he is, representing the month of March.
Mustafa has a good portion of his originals listed in his Etsy shop and there’s lots of gems to choose from. He specializes in small format landscapes. They’d work perfectly on a shelf, or hanging on your wall with an extra large mat. His ethereal pieces capture the sky in its best moments. So dreamy.
Here’s a bit about Mustafa from his shop profile:
“I was born in Valencia, Spain and left when I was 4 years old for the middle east and around Africa. In 2016, I moved to the United States of America. I convey my appreciation & love for nature through my paintings.”
I went digging further by messaging him through Instagram…
According to Mustafa, his career as an artist began in 2018 when his wife introduced him to the work of Bob Ross. He was inspired by Ross’s beautiful landscapes. As a new citizen, Mustafa loved Ross’s “soothing and easy to understand” voice. Once he got his hands on a Bob Ross kit (gifted from his wife) he immediately began practicing. The rest, as they say, is history.
Honestly, it’s hard to believe that he just started painting in 2018. It seems to me he was born to be an artist. Don’t you think?
Mustafa introduces new paintings through his Instagram account, so be sure to follow him for the latest editions. Here’s a few of my recent favs…
How sweet is that little coffee cup?
That’s all for this week! If you love Mustafa’s work as much as I do, then add your favorites to cart and check out quickly. These gorgeous originals will get you one step closer to a home you love.
Wishing you a beautiful week ahead.
