Artist Spotlight: Iris Lehnhardt
Iris’s art was lurking in depths of both my accounts at Saatchi Art and Artfully Walls. My best guess is that it’s been there for at least 4 years, just patiently waiting for me to pull it up for some air.
Iris’s paintings feel like the perfect match for the summer we’ve been having here in the US. It’s been messy, tragic, and complicated. A time period where you’ve gotta look a little harder for the bright spots. Likewise, Iris’s paintings might seem kinda messy, but dig a little deeper and you’ll see the love, the passion, and the joy.
Here’s a bit of background on Iris via her bio on Saatchi.
“Iris Lehnhardt is a German visual artist. Her aesthetic is a homage to a variety of colours, shapes and forms often found in nature. Iris is skilled using various media, such as painting, photography and digital art, often combining them in her artwork. Painting, however, is her passion and preferred medium, in which her subtle and exquisite colour hues can be seen. Her artistic expression is often intuitive and gestural. Each artwork has its own individual process, as her paintings are created from experimenting and combining elements of collage, wax, acrylics, charcoal, grafite, chalk and ink. Iris is known for her creative expression of marks and brush strokes with her unique touch of minimalist detail.”
I just discovered Iris’s Instagram account which is a real treat. I love getting a sneak peak into the minds of artists. After some light stalking, I found this gem and thought I’d share her caption with you…
“As usual, when I come back to a painting the other day, I cannot resist to work on it more. Paintings are a never ending story through my eyes, it’s only when we decide when to stop for that special moment. Like a small glimpse of something bigger, one single moment, a capture of that special energy of that day and mood. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.”
I can just feel her optimism and her sense of gratitude for the small, beautiful, moments in life. It’s certainly serves as a good reminder for me, and perhaps for you as well.
Iris sells her art on Saatchi, Art.com, Society6, Artfinder, Artfully Walls. She’s got both originals, and affordable prints, for those on a tighter budget. Speaking of which, Artfully walls is currently having a 25% off sale!
Here’s just a small sampling of Iris’s gorgeous abstracts…

This print (below) is my favorite piece in her collection on Artfully Walls. The fresh bright greens are drawing me right in.
If Iris’s art is speaking to you then snatch up your favs before they’re gone. Art is one thing you’ll never regret purchasing. It will bring you joy each time you see it, and of course…it will get you one step closer to a home you love.
Wishing you a beautiful week ahead.
