If you are interested in purchasing one of these pillow covers, I suggest you purchase a 20x20 or larger (I typically buy 22 or 24 inch pillows). These covers come without inserts, but you can buy them pretty much anywhere home decor is sold (including IKEA).

When shopping for an insert, make sure that it’s filled with either down, or synthetic down. This will ensure that your pillows will spring back to life after a quick fluffing. I have purchased many ugly-as-sin clearance pillows at HomeGoods, just for their down insert. Pillows made with polyfill (that stuffing you crafted with as a kid), can’t be easily revived once they’ve been worn flat over time.

Also…super important public service announcement: always buy an insert that is two inches larger than your pillow cover. I know it sounds very counterintuitive, but trust me, doing so will give you a nice full and fluffy look.
