Raise your hand if you’ve got a boob light in your house. Chances are fairly good that you’ve got at least one. If not, I bet you have some other horrific version of flush mount lighting. We do, in our upstairs hallway, and we moved into this house 3 years ago!

Well friends, good news. Flush mount lighting is having a moment. A really good moment. I began a search to replace our gross hallway fixture and was surprisingly overwhelmed by all the beautiful choices available. Most of which were quite affordable!

I rounded up my favorite flush mounts (and semi flush mounts) to help you narrow down the field a bit. Here they are, in no particular order…

I can personally testify to beauty of #6. We have this light in our powder room and I’m obsessed!

I got in on sale at Ballard a few years ago for about $250, though in person it looks like it cost me twice the price!

*World Market has a pretty good replica of light #13, which will save you quite a bit of cash. Click on the image to the right for a link!

If you’ve been staring at a bad fixture for one too many years, it’s time to make a change. This is just one small change that will make a really big impact. Trust me, replacing the boob light in our powder room made all the difference in the world. If you want to create a home you love, take one small step at time to get there. You can start by replacing a light fixture. Go slow, choose wisely, and remember quality over quantity.

That’s it for this week friends! Next week I’ll be highlighting one more small change. Subscribe below for updates on the best tips and tricks to create a home you love!
