The Perfect Paint Color For Your Living Room!

fullsizeoutput_aed.jpeg

Wanna know what it is?! Just answer one simple question. What’s your favorite color?

Yep, that’s it! That’s the color you should use. Why? Because if it’s a color you love then it obviously makes you feel good. And why wouldn’t you want to feel good in your home? Beyond that, your favorite color is an important expression of you. It speaks to your unique personality and sense of style. Colors come in many different shades…I assure you, those who love yellow will not always be able to agree on the ‘perfect’ shade of yellow. Hence the uniqueness of your favorite color.

I’ve had our living room painted Colonnade Gray for a few years now. I still like it, and could easily recommend it, but these days I’m really craving some blue paint. If you regularly read this blog, or follow me on Instagram then you know, full well, that blue is my favorite color (followed by green, naturally). Luckily the huz loves blue as well, so I think I’ll keep him. ;)

These blue toned rooms are giving me all the good feels…

Here are some tried and true blues that will create a saturated and bold look, without being garish.

Keep in mind that these sample swatches will not look quite the same on your walls. You need to bring them into the room you are painting. Light, or lack there of, can drastically change how color looks on your walls. *I highly recommend picking a few favorites and then buying some sample sized cans. OR, you can purchase stick-on samples from Samplize. I plan on trying these puppies out when I paint my office.

Speaking of my office, I’m planning on going green in there! But not a true green, I mean that certain special place where green meets both blue and gray. I’m leaning very heavily towards Magnetic Gray (Sherwin Williams). It looks somewhat dreary in the swatches below, but the sample I got sings upstairs on my office walls.

Here are some of my favorite green spaces from my Pinterest boards

This is still one of my all time favorite pins…the green and white combo feels so fresh and lovely.

I chose greens from Sherwin Williams since the blues were all from Benjamin Moore. Just trying to spread the love and keep it fair. I have no bias…just in case someone from either company is reading this. Because I’m sure they both stalk this blog (haha).

Obviously there are many more amazing greens out there, these just scratch the surface (same applies to the blues).

So what do you think? Are you ready for real some color in your home?! Test a few of these out! A change in color will create a change in mood- taking your home from ordinary to one of a kind. After all, you, my friend, are one of a kind…your home should be as well! The move from neutral paint color to your favorite color is one easy step towards creating a home you love.

Not quite ready to go all in with paint? Then swap out your accessories first! Rugs/pillows/drapes/artwork in your favorite color can certainly help to change the mood of a room, as well.
