Versatile Vases Under $50
Vases are an absolute essential when it comes to interior styling. It’s their versatility that makes them a stand-out star in the world of home decor. They can hold their own as a sculptural centerpiece or, of course, function as a vessel to hold your favorite flowers.
Whether you’re shopping for a new vase or pulling an old one out of your basement, there’s a few important styling tips to keep in mind...
Tip #1: Feel free to leave it empty
What most people don’t realize is that vases can stand alone as sculpture. They don’t always need to be filled, especially if you’re grouping several together.
Tip #2: Consider the neck
If you’re searching for a vase that you’d like to fill with flowers, first consider the size and shape of the neck. A vase with a narrow neck will involve a lot less flowers and a lot less effort than one with a wide neck.
Tip #3: Vary your collection
Ideally you should own a combination of different shapes, textures, and sizes. A varied collection will enable you to use them alone, for specific purposes, or group them together in a vignette.
I’ve got little bud vases perfect for a small bouquet of ranunculus.
Medium sized vases for my DIY grocery store arrangements.
And large vases (12-14) inches that I like to fill with big fluffy hydrangeas, branches, and sometimes even weeds.
Tip #4: Add some texture
When shopping for vases, I like to stick to neutral colors and add interest through texture. Check out these textural vases from Crate & Barrel. The neutral colors, and variation in size and texture are allowing them to play nicely together in this centerpiece vignette.
Need a new vase? Here’s a round-up of my favorite, go anywhere, hold anything, neutral vases. Bonus: all of them are under $50!
Well friends, that’s all for this week! Why not get yourself a new vase and fill it with your favorite flowers?! Or leave it empty and let it shine! It will get you one step closer to a home you love.
Wishing you a beautiful, and healthy, week ahead.
